What you should know . . .
Most of the large supplement companies are NOT run by nutritionists, scientists, or people that even care about fitness. They are founded and controlled by marketing groups that see a potential for large profit in the dietary supplement industry. Sure, they may employ nutritional scientists, but their influence might be limited and quality concerns set aside in pursuit of overall profit. Expensive, result-delivering ingredients are skimped, while cheaper components are added. Not only are the key ingredients limited; character tends to be scarce as well. Integrity and honesty are thrown out the window, as ridiculous and outrageous product claims are made. We’ll say what we need to say in order to sell the product, might be their motto. And, they’ll say it in big fancy advertising campaigns.
The financial bottom line, driven by snazzy marketing and wishful claims, is their ultimate goal.
All companies are not like this.
Other companies sometimes swing to the opposite end of the spectrum. "Our products WILL deliver results," is their mantra. The problem is that somewhere along the way, this “results at all costs” mentality is stretched too far and safety concerns arise. The safety of these products usually takes a backseat to whatever formula will deliver the best results. Sadly enough, the concern is not for the consumer’s health, but results at any costs.
